These infrared rays will be reflected back to the sensor, which then, send signals to open or close the door. On the other hand, we have the passive proximity sensor. This type of sensor is known for functioning on the basis of the information that come from the environment. A signal s sent to the electrical circuit when there is change occurring. Although infrared lights are emitted every object, the frequency differs in accordance to the type of object that intercepts it. One very good example of a passive proximity sensor is the outdoor safety lights that turns on when it senses the frequency of a human body, and turns off when it don't.
